The Lower East Side New York City.
Between 1892 and 1950 more than 12 million immigrants passed through Ellis Island, Most found their way to the lower east side.
The vast majority stayed only a few years, long enough to learn English, find a job and move elsewhere to make a living in the U.S.A.
By 1960 the hippies tripped psychedelically through its streets .
Then in 1980, came punks at the time it became the best art scene in New York.
Some of this scene remains in the form of wall art.
It is this wall art that I have depicted in my photography. They were taken in one day during 8hours and a ten mile walk up and across 1st street to east 14th street in July 2008.
